September Mid-week Special – 10% off!  ($140/night | 2 night min.)

Autumn Conservation Festival

Saturday & Sunday, Oct 4th & 5th 10 am – 3 pm.

Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute – Front Royal
This is where they raise endangered species and it’s only open to the public two days a year – It’s sort of like going on a safari!

Get away to an alternate reality of stress-free country living.
(And at 1,738 feet in elevation it’s always 10-15 degrees cooler than the city!)

Above the little village of Linden, just 5 miles east of Front Royal, the northern gateway to Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park.
In the rural Mountain View Section of Shenandoah Farms subdivision, which was planned back in the ’70’s as a vacation community, on a secluded arm of Blue Mountain, now surrounded on three sides by the 1200 acre Blue Ridge Reserve conservation wilderness. And the eastern slope of Blue Mountain is the 4,000 acre G Richard Thompson Wildlife Management Area.
One of the best views on aptly named High Top Rd!

WINTER ADVISORY:   Access in winter may require a 4WD vehicle.  The last mile of road to the cabin is gravel.  It is plowed by the County, but even long after a storm can still be very slick.  We cannot be responsible for the whims of Nature.  If you choose to come with a 2WD vehicle, you do so at your own risk and with acceptance of the eventuality that you may need to call a tow truck.

We are a hands-on operation, living only 1/4 mile away, so your experience here will feel a bit more personal than at a typical vacation rental.

We welcome well behaved dogs.
You should note however that there is a county-wide leash law.

We welcome well behaved children.
You should note however that the environment is not particularly conducive to small children’s enjoyment. There’s no lawned yard to play in, the terrain is very steep and rocky, and the woods has poison ivy and snakes. Inside and on the deck we have not addressed any child safety issues as we have no experience in that regard and it’s not been our focus clientele. There is no community playground, and the youngest kids in the neighborhood are of junior high age. The community lakes have no beaches, lifeguards, or restrooms. The closest playground is in Front Royal about 12 miles from the cabin.

We enjoy providing our guests with a special experience and hope that you’ll appreciate the idyllic setting and all the little extras offered.
