Battle of Front Royal Reenactment

  • 10:00 – living history demonstrations at the Warren County Court House on Main St & Warren Heritage Society on Chester St.
  • 11:00 – violinist Bébhinn Egger’s at the Gazebo
  • 11:30-12:30pm & 2:00 – 3:00 – Tuscarora Brass Band at the Warren Heritage Society.
  • 1:00 – Battle of Front Royal reenactment on Main & Chester Sts.
    Civil War History information booths at the gazebo.

Sun May 8th

  • 10:00 – living history demonstrations continue at the Court House & Heritage Society.

as it pulls “The American” from Manassas to Front Royal and back.

History of Engine# 611:   Built in 1950,  retired in ’57,  revived for excursions in ’59,  from ’81 – ’94,  & now in ’15 & ’16!

Battle of Cedar Creek Reenactment

events Wed Oct 15th – Mon Oct 20th / battle on Sunday Oct 19th

Cedar Creek Battlefield in Middletown (just N of Front Royal)
The only Civil War reenactment on the actual field of battle
& on the actual anniversary day.

This is always one of the best & largest reenactments in the nation, this year is the 150th anniversary, and promises to be spectacular!

This event is SO cool! (The Institute is only open to the public once a year.
Part of the National Zoo, this is where they breed endangered species.
Rich in history- built as an Army cavalry training post in WWI,
and used as a POW camp in WWII
